Hyderabad, April 25, (Maxim News) Osmania University, one of India’s premier and oldest universities, marked the commencement of its 108th Foundation Day Celebrations with an inspiring “Foundation Day Walk,” symbolizing the institution’s journey of academic excellence, societal commitment, and transformative education.
The walk, which served as a curtain raiser to the grand celebrations scheduled for April 26, 2025, at the Tagore Auditorium, was flagged off from the iconic Arts College building and culminated at the University College of Engineering—resonating with the historic and progressive spirit of the university.
The event was led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kumar Molugaram, who paid rich tributes to the university’s visionary founders and highlighted Osmania University’s significant role in shaping leaders, thinkers, and change-makers over the past century. In his remarks, he said, “This walk is not just a symbolic gesture but a reaffirmation of our collective journey and commitment to carry forward the legacy of knowledge, inclusion, and innovation.”
Accompanying the Vice Chancellor were Registrar Prof. G. Naresh Reddy, OSD to Vice Chancellor Prof. S. Jithender Kumar Naik, Principals, Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, faculty members, research scholars, students, and non-teaching staff—each representing the vibrant and diverse academic community of Osmania University.
The walk was infused with enthusiasm and patriotic pride, echoing with slogans and a spirit of unity. In a solemn gesture of solidarity and remembrance for the victims of the tragic attack in Pahalgam, all participants observed a two-minute silence in reverence.
The 108th Foundation Day Celebrations aim to showcase the university’s illustrious past and promising future, with events lined up to honor distinguished alumni, celebrate academic milestones, and unveil visionary plans for the coming decades.
The university extends a warm invitation to all stakeholders, alumni, and well-wishers to participate in the main Foundation Day Celebrations on April 26, 2025, at Tagore Auditorium, which will feature cultural programs, keynote addresses, and the honoring of academic excellence.
