The deceased have been identified as Ritika (44) and Poonam (50), both part of a family from Bihar, currently residing in Madhapur, Hyderabad. The family had gone on a leisure trip to a resort near the scenic lake when the mishap occurred.

According to eyewitnesses and a video circulating on social media, the family, which included three adults and two children, boarded a boat for a ride on the lake around 6 PM. About 300 meters into the water, the boat operator was reportedly instructed to return due to an approaching storm.

As the boat turned, it suddenly capsized, throwing the passengers into the water. While locals rushed to the scene and rescued two individuals, the two women could not be saved despite being given CPR and rushed to a nearby hospital.

A relative of the victims expressed anguish over the lack of safety measures. “There were no life jackets, no trained rescue team, and the boatman swam away, leaving our family struggling. The resort staff offered no help,” he alleged.
