Kishan Reddy Eddy Letter Revanth Reddy Seeking Cooperation On Renewable Energy Projects
Hyderabad, July 17 (Maxim News): Union Minister Kishan Reddy has written a letter to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, seeking the Telangana government’s cooperation on renewable energy projects proposed by public sector undertakings under the Union Ministry of Coal.
Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs), particularly Coal India Limited (CIL) and Neyveli Lignite Corporation India Limited (NLCIL), are keen to partner with the Telangana government to implement solar and wind power plants, pumped storage projects (PSP), and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
Kishan Reddy said these projects could bring in investments worth ₹10,000 crore over the next three years.
Key proposals include:
- Identifying high solar potential zones for solar plant development
- Developing a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to improve grid reliability
- Feasibility and execution of pumped storage projects
- Establishing joint ventures with state PSUs or coal companies
The Union Minister emphasized the need for land acquisition and allocation support from the Telangana government to move forward. (Maxim News)
