Hyderabad, Oct. 19: Pakistan has extended its airspace ban on Indian aircraft until November 24, 2026, according to a fresh Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA).
The extension replaces the earlier October 24 deadline. The restrictions apply to Indian civilian and military aircraft, including aircraft registered in India or owned, operated or leased by Indian aviation companies.
Airspace Restrictions Continue In Pakistan Amid Tensions
The ban covers both the Karachi and Lahore Flight Information Regions. Indian aircraft will remain barred from entering Pakistani airspace unless authorities announce a change before the revised deadline.

Pakistan first closed its airspace to Indian aircraft on April 23, 2025, following heightened tensions after the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. India responded on April 30, 2025, by imposing reciprocal restrictions on Pakistani airlines and aircraft.
India accused Pakistan of supporting the Pahalgam attack, a charge Islamabad rejected. The incident triggered a sharp escalation in diplomatic and military tensions between the neighbouring countries.
Both countries have repeatedly extended their respective airspace restrictions since then. The latest Pakistani extension indicates that the curbs will remain in place for another month, with no announced easing so far.
Media reports have also noted similar restrictions during earlier periods of strained relations, including the 1999 Kargil conflict and the aftermath of the 2019 Pulwama attack.
