ATPA Hosts Pickleball Coaching and Referee Clinic in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, July 21 (Maxim News): The Amateur Telangana Pickleball Association (ATPA), in collaboration with the All India Pickleball Association (AIPA), successfully organized a Pickleball Clinic for Coaches and Referees on July 19 and 20 at the LB Stadium Indoor Hall, Hyderabad.
The two-day event received an overwhelming response, with 70 participants attending the coaching sessions and 72 individuals undergoing referee training. The clinic aimed to promote the sport of pickleball by enhancing the skills and knowledge of aspiring coaches and referees across Telangana and beyond.
The event was conducted under the dynamic leadership of M. Ramesh, IPS, President of ATPA, who presided over the sessions. Distinguished guests who graced the clinic as Guests of Honour included:
- Dr. T. Dasarada Rami Reddy, Senior Vice President, ATPA
- Dr. Ravi Kumar, Administrator, LB Stadium
- Dr. Ch. Raja Rao, Principal, Government College of Physical Education, Domalguda
The training sessions — comprising both theoretical and practical modules — were led by Chetan Sanil, Secretary General of AIPA, and Ajay Chaudhari, a resource expert from the Asian Pickleball Federation. The clinic covered core elements of coaching techniques, rules of the game, match officiating, and practical on-court decision-making.
Participants were evaluated and graded on their performance, helping establish a certified pool of qualified coaches and referees who can further spread the game at grassroots and competitive levels.
This initiative by ATPA marks another strong step toward popularizing pickleball in Telangana and creating a structured framework for its growth across India.
