According to Housing Board officials, a team had visited MP Function Hall in Mehdipatnam to take over the property following a court judgment in favor of the board. The leaseholder, Khaja Ishaquddin, allegedly owed the board Rs. 1.22 crore in arrears, with the lease expiring in 2014. After years of litigation, the court had recently granted the board rights to reclaim the property.

Tension Escalates During Sealing Attempt

As per the board, after notifying the local police, the team proceeded to seal the function hall. They had locked one of the three gates and were moving to secure the second when a physical altercation broke out. Officials claim that Khaja Ishaquddin had allegedly brought in bouncers to disrupt the operation.

Amid the chaos, Jagadishwar Rao collapsed. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
