Nagarjuna Sagar Reservoir Nears Full Capacity Amid Heavy Inflow

Nagarjuna Sagar | Hyderabad, July 29: The Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir is nearing its full capacity following heavy flood inflows from upstream.

According to officials, the water level has reached 586.60 feet, just shy of its full reservoir level of 590 feet. The current storage stands at 312.04 TMC.

The reservoir is receiving an inflow of 2,01,743 cusecs, while the outflow has been recorded at 41,822 cusecs.

With the crest gates lifted on Monday morning to manage the excess water, District Collector C. Narayana Reddy has issued a public advisory urging residents in downstream areas to remain vigilant.

He also cautioned the public against entering the river, citing continued heavy inflows from the Srisailam project into the Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir.
