Rahul Gandhi Gets Bail Over ‘Defamatory Remarks’ Against Amit Shah In 2018

Ranchi/Hyderabad, Aug 6 (Maxim News)Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been granted bail by the MP-MLA court in Jharkhand in a case of defamatory remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Rahul Gandhi himself appeared before the Chaibasa court on Wednesday.

Earlier, security was beefed up around the court, given Rahul Gandhi’s presence in the court. The local administration had made security arrangements keeping in mind law and order. Rahul arrived in Chaibasa from Ranchi in a helicopter. A helipad was set up at the Tata College grounds for this. Rahul arrived in the state on Tuesday to attend the funeral of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren.

A defamation case was filed by a man named Pratap Kumar, alleging that Rahul Gandhi made defamatory remarks against Amit Shah at a rally in 2018. Rahul was supposed to appear before the special court on June 26, but his lawyer told the court that his client would not be able to appear that day and requested the court to allow him to appear on August 6.  (Maxim News)
