Hyderabad, Aug 14 (Maxim News): Despite the introduction of free bus travel for women, incidents of passengers misbehaving with RTC staff are on the rise.
In a recent case in Hyderabad, a female passenger attacked a woman conductor on a city bus, and a video of the altercation has since gone viral on social media.

The incident occurred on a bus operating between Falaknuma to Secunderabad. According to reports, the passenger asked the driver to stop at a location convenient for her. When the driver and conductor explained that they could only stop at designated points, an argument broke out.

Angered by the refusal, the passenger hurled abuses at the conductor. The dispute escalated, and in a fit of rage, the passenger allegedly grabbed the conductor by the waist and attacked her. The scuffle continued for several minutes, with onlookers hesitant to intervene since both parties involved were women.
Similar incidents have been reported elsewhere, including one in Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh, just four days ago, where a female passenger slapped a bus driver for not stopping at her desired location. Several such attacks have also been reported in Telangana.
In response to these recurring assaults, TSRTC has displayed notices inside buses warning that attacking staff on duty is a criminal offense and will attract strict legal action. Authorities are yet to announce what action will be taken against the passenger involved in this case. (Maxim News)
