Kodangal Dargah: Police Complaint Lodged; Protest Rally on Sept 26
Kodangal Dargah | Vikarabad/Hyderabad, Sept. 24 (Maxim News): Tension prevailed in Kodangal town of Vikarabad district after Muslim groups said that a Dargah and multiple graveyards were demolished during road widening works.
The incident has drawn sharp protests from local Muslim community leaders, who have filed a complaint with the police demanding immediate action against officials responsible.
According to community leaders, the structures were razed overnight as part of municipal road expansion activities in the town center.
They alleged that neither the Dargah committee nor families connected with the graveyards were informed beforehand. This, they said, amounted to a violation of both religious and community sentiments.
Kodangal Dargah | Complaint Against Municipal Commissioner and Special Officer:
Muslim leaders specifically named Kodangal Municipal Commissioner B. Balaram Naik and Special Officer Venkat Reddy in their police complaint. They demanded that legal action be initiated against the two officials for allegedly authorizing the demolition. The complaint was lodged at the local police station earlier today.
Community representatives expressed deep anger over the manner in which the demolition was carried out. They said that removing religious and burial sites without dialogue or notice was an affront to the community’s faith. The leaders further warned that their agitation would continue until strict action is taken against those responsible.
Protest Rally Planned on Sept 26 (Friday)
The leaders announced that on Sept 26 (Friday), a massive protest rally will be taken out from Jammia Masjid to Kodangal Chowrasta.
“If action is not taken right away, we will complain to senior police officers. Our fight will not stop until those responsible face consequences,” the leaders said.
The controversy over the Kodangal Dargah demolition has now become a flashpoint, with demands for accountability directed at the municipal administration. The situation remains tense, with further developments expected in the coming days. (Maxim News)
