Hyderabad, Oct 8 (Maxim News): It is alarming that the Congress, which publicly claims to support the cause of Palestine, acts like an authoritarian regime by repressing student voices and criminalizing democratic dissent. This pattern of repression extends beyond EFLU, with police detaining peaceful protesters in other parts of Telangana, like the solidarity gatherings in Hyderabad, Adilabad and surrounding areas, further stifling voices of solidarity with Palestine. By not being an active part of a humanitarian cause, their hypocrisy in act and speech exposes a dangerous gap between proclaimed values and actual governance.
SIO demands this government to immediately halt this authoritarian behaviour, inhumane treatment, and to uphold the constitutional right to peaceful protest. (Maxim News)
