High Tension At Telangana High Court: BC Groups Protest: Calls For Bandh!

Hyderabad, Oct 9 (Maxim News): The Telangana High Court today stayed the local body election notification along with the GO No. 9 issued by the government providing 42 percent reservation for BCs in local bodies.

In this context, a tense atmosphere prevailed during the hearing in the High Court. Leaders of BC associations gathered in large numbers in the backdrop of the hearing. BC associations have staged a protest after the local body election notification and reservation issue was stayed. BC association leaders expressed dissatisfaction over the developments in this case.

They strongly opposed the stay and protested. BC associations, who said that they had been treated unfairly in the High Court, expressed their grievances. BC association leaders raised slogans against the government at Gate No. 4 of the High Court. They tried to sit on the road. But, the police immediately intervened and took them into custody.

The local body election process will be halted due to the High Court stay. In this context, BC associations have called for a state bandh. (Maxim News)
