It is known that several parties, including the DMK, are accusing the BJP of trying to force Hindi in Tamil Nadu. The state assembly recently passed a resolution against the forcible imposition of Hindi on Tamil Nadu. In the resolution, it asked the central government not to implement the recommendations of the report of the parliamentary committee formed on official languages.

CM MK Stalin moved the resolution, saying that the recommendations submitted to the President on September 9 by the committee were against the languages of other states, including Tamil, and the interests of the people who speak them.

Along with this resolution, the resolution also stated that the recommendations of the parliamentary committee were against the assurance given by India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru to states that spoke languages other than Hindi. This was passed by the assembly. (Maxim News)
