KTR Taunts Congress: Defeat In Jubilee Hills Will Make Them Fulfil Promises

Jubilee Hills By-Election Is Not Between Persons, But Between Two Parties — Between Ten Years of Progress and Two Years of Chaos

Hyderabad, Oct 15: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) said the upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election would serve as a people’s verdict on governance, declaring that only a defeat for Congress in this election can force the ruling party to fulfil the promises it made to the people of Telangana.

Speaking at Telangana Bhavan before BRS candidate Smt. Maganti Sunitha Gopinath filed her nomination papers, KTR remarked, “This by-election is not just a contest between two individuals. It is a battle between a decade of progress under BRS and two years of chaos under the Congress government. More importantly, it is the people’s opportunity to make the Congress realise its betrayal of public trust.”

He asserted that if Congress loses the Jubilee Hills by-election, the government will have no choice but to implement its own election assurances. “If Sunitha wins, it will be a victory for the people — and a reminder to the Congress that promises are meant to be delivered, not forgotten. Only then will they feel the pressure to release the ₹2,500 monthly support for women, clear farmers’ dues, and provide employment as they pledged,” KTR said.

KTR emphasised that 1.67 crore women in Telangana, who were promised financial assistance, are now pinning their hopes on this by-election.

“They are waiting for Sunitha’s win so that the Congress government is compelled to act. Lakhs of farmers and unemployed youth, who have been deceived by false assurances, are also looking at Jubilee Hills as their voice for justice,” he added.

He criticised the Congress regime for halting Hyderabad’s growth. “Poor families who saw their houses demolished, Basti Dawakhanas closed, and free drinking water supply stopped are witnessing the difference between development and destruction.

People remember that under KCR’s leadership, BRS built one lakh double-bedroom houses, distributed property titles, and ensured inclusive urban welfare. Congress, on the other hand, has not built even a single house in Hyderabad,” he pointed out.

KTR said the by-election was also an opportunity for minorities, BCs, and Dalits to teach the Congress a lesson for breaking their trust. “Minorities were humiliated and denied representation.

BCs were misled through fake declarations and empty promises of reservations. Dalits were betrayed through the misuse of Dalit Bandhu and Abhayahastam schemes. Every community is ready to hold the Congress accountable,” he declared.

He added that the Jubilee Hills by-election would serve as the foundation for the BRS’s resurgence under K. Chandrashekar Rao’s leadership.

“The Pink Wave that transformed Telangana will begin again from Jubilee Hills. Our candidate Sunitha Gopinath is receiving overwhelming support from all quarters,” KTR stated.

Appealing to voters, KTR said, “Every vote for Sunitha is not just a vote for BRS — it is a message to stop the Congress’s arrogance and compel it to keep its word.

This by-election is the people’s chance to make the government work for them.”

He also recalled the services of the late Maganti Gopinath, saying, “Gopinath played a pivotal role in BRS’s victories across Hyderabad as the then District President.

After his untimely demise, our President KCR garu decided to support his family by fielding his wife, Smt. Sunitha Gopinath, as the party’s candidate.” He added that KCR directed all senior leaders to extend complete support to her campaign.

“With the blessings of our leadership and the goodwill of the people, Sunitha will register a resounding victory — a victory that will awaken the conscience of this negligent Congress government,” KTR concluded.

Earlier in the day, BRS candidate Smt. Maganti Sunitha Gopinath filed her first set of nomination papers for the 61-Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency by-election in the presence of senior leaders Talasani Srinivas Yadav (MLA), Padma Rao (MLA), Raula Sridhar Reddy (Ex-Chairman), and Corporator Dedeepya Rao.
