Hash Oil Peddlers Nabbed In Hyderabad

Commissioner’s Task Force, Afzalgunj Police seize 1.35 kg hash oil

Five held; cash, phones and bag seized in joint operation

Hyderabad, Oct 15: Hyderabad police apprehended two hash oil peddlers and three consumers in a joint operation by the Commissioner’s Task Force, East Zone team, and Afzalgunj Police.

The action, based on a tip-off on Oct. 14, 2025, led to the seizure of 1,350 grams of hash oil, a bag, Rs.10,000 in cash, and two cell phones, all valued at Rs.7,00,000.

The arrests were made at CBS, Gowliguda, when the suspects were about to deliver the contraband to customers.

The peddlers were identified as Kethuboina Sanjay Kumar, 31, a real estate businessman from GajulaRamaram, Quthbullapur, Medchal district, native of Kadapa district, and Abba Naganna, 25, a painter from GajulaRamaram, Quthbullapur, Medchal district, native of Nagar Kurnool district.

The consumers were named as K. Mahesh, 31, a private employee from Bachupally, Miyapur; Shaik Irfan, 35, a supervisor from GajulaRamaram, Qutubullapur, Medchal district; and K. Lokesh, 19, a student from GajulaRamaram, Quthbullapur, Medchal district.

According to the case facts, the two peddlers, residents of Gajula Ramaram, are addicted to narcotic substances like ganja and hash oil.

Hash Oil Peddlers Nabbed In Hyderabad

About a month ago, while consuming hash oil, they discussed buying in bulk and selling in and around Hyderabad for profit.

They procured hash oil in bulk through known persons who are presently absconding.

They packed the substance into small plastic boxes containing 5 grams each and started selling it at Rs.500 per gram. They then informed customers to come to CBS, Gowliguda, to collect the hash oil.

Police apprehended the accused when they were about to deliver the contraband to the three consumers. A case in Cr.No.413/2025 under Section 8(c) read with 20(b)(ii)(C) of the NDPS Act of PS Afzalgunj has been registered.

The arrests were made under the supervision of U. Chandra Shekar, Inspector of Police, East Zone Task Force, by SIs M. Anantha Chary, P. Nagaraju, and S. Karunakar Reddy and the Task Force team, along with Afzalgunj Police.
