Prakash Raj And Vijay Deverakonda Appears Before CID In Online Betting Apps Case
Hyderabad, Nov. 12 (Maxim News) : Actor Prakash Raj appeared before the CID Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Wednesday in connection with the online betting apps promotion case.
Officials questioned him about the payments and commissions he allegedly received from these betting platforms.
Authorities said the investigation focuses on celebrities who promoted online betting apps that reportedly drove several youths into financial losses and suicides.
The CID also questioned actor Vijay Deverakonda on Tuesday over similar allegations.
The Andhra Pradesh government ordered the CID to conduct a detailed inquiry under the supervision of the Additional DGP.
The investigation aims to uncover financial transactions and promotional contracts linked to betting platforms.
The CID has registered cases against 29 individuals, including film actors Rana Daggubati, Vijay Deverakonda, Prakash Raj, and Manchu Lakshmi.
Officials are recording statements and verifying digital evidence to determine the extent of celebrity involvement.
Investigators said the promotional campaigns of these apps influenced a large number of young people. Many users reportedly lost money through illegal betting activities.
Authorities are assessing whether celebrities received direct benefits from the companies running these apps.
The SIT will continue questioning the accused over the next few days. Officials stated that all individuals involved must cooperate with the ongoing investigation. (Maxim News)
