Bandit Polarization Did Not Work For BJP In Jubilee Hills
- Jubilee Hills results trigger BJP introspection and leader criticism
- Congress, BRS campaign as BJP faces issues over candidate selection
Introspection has started within the BJP after the results from Jubilee Hills. Many party members are asking where the mistakes happened and who should take responsibility. Union Minister Kishan Reddy, who serves as the local MP, took control of selecting the candidate and leading the campaign. Therefore, several leaders believe he shares responsibility for the defeat. However, some argue that the state leadership did not show enough interest in the Jubilee Hills by-election right from the start. The selection of the BJP candidate became an issue, as the party did not finalize its choice until the last day of nominations.
While Congress and the BRS campaigned hard in the area, BJP workers were left waiting for directions. This caused confusion at the grassroots. Many star campaigners also stayed away. Claims have emerged that party leaders made little effort to bring them into the local campaign. Meanwhile, only three days before the official campaign ended, Union Minister Bandi Sanjay stepped in. Despite his best efforts to polarize votes, the move did not have much effect.
During previous by-elections in Huzurabad and Munugode, the BJP leadership managed everything by themselves. In contrast, this time the party faced internal issues, with questions being raised over the lack of attention paid to the crucial Jubilee Hills by-election. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also accused the BJP of choosing to “commit suicide to donate organs to BRS.” BRS MLA Raja Singh, who was suspended from BJP, openly criticized senior party leaders Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay, and Ramchander Rao.
The results in Jubilee Hills suggest the BJP’s strategies, including efforts to polarize the vote, did not succeed. Therefore, party leaders are now examining what went wrong, as criticism and debate continue within the party. The episode has also brought more focus on how Congress and the BRS managed to organize and direct their campaigns more effectively during the by-election.
