The proceeding took place at the Speaker’s office, where the focus stayed on specific petitions tied to alleged crossovers.

The process involved case-specific queries aimed at clarifying the record and examining the alleged acts of defection.

The questioning formed part of the tribunal-style adjudication under Assembly procedures.

Separate legal teams conducted cross-examination of the respondents. Lawyers representing MLA K.P. Vivek cross-examined Tellam Venkata Rao, while the legal team for MLA Jagadish Reddy cross-examined Sanjay.

The cross-examinations aimed to test claims and contradictions, and they followed earlier procedural steps undertaken in the case files.

The hearing sequence follows earlier sessions in related petitions. The office heard MLAs Arikepudi Gandhi and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Friday. Proceedings for MLAs Prakash Goud and Kale Yadayya concluded on October 1.

Hearings for MLAs Gudem Mahipal Reddy and Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy concluded on October 4. Since then, hearings for the remaining six MLAs faced adjournments at different stages, which extended the schedule.

Two more MLAs—Kadiyam Srihari and Danam Nagender—must submit explanations to the Speaker’s notices.

According to available information, the Speaker’s office plans to hear both on Sunday.

This indicates the current round of proceedings is continuing into the next day, keeping the timeline active for pending respondents. (Maxim News)
