The operation uncovered large-scale hoarding of ration rice, which is meant for public distribution under government schemes. Authorities also seized two autos used in transporting the illegally stored stock. “The seized rice was handed over to the Civil Supply DM,” officials confirmed.
Case registered and officials involved in the raid
A 6-A case has been registered against the owner of Srilakshmi Rice Mill in connection with the illegal storage of ration rice. Civil Supply OSD Prabhakar, Special Officer Lakshma Reddy, Task Force Circle Inspector Vasanth Kumar, Sub-Inspector Jampaiah, and other officials participated in the raids. The coordinated action reflects the department’s strict measures to prevent diversion of essential commodities.
The seizure highlights ongoing efforts by state authorities to monitor and regulate ration distribution channels. Officials said the action aims to curb black marketing and ensure that rice allocated under public welfare schemes reaches the intended beneficiaries. Civil supply enforcement has intensified checks across Karimnagar district following repeated complaints about stock hoarding.
Authorities warned other rice mill owners and traders against storing ration stock illegally. “Such operations will continue until all irregularities in the supply chain are addressed,” said a senior official.
