Four From Kagaznagar Killed In A Road Accident In Maharashtra
Kumram Bheem Asifabad, 25 December (Maxim News): In a tragic road accident, three women and a minor girl from Kagaznagar town were killed on the spot when the car in which they were travelling plunged into a stream from atop a bridge near Sondo village in Devada tehsil of Chandrapur district, Maharashtra, around midnight on Wednesday.
The victims were identified as Salma Begum, wife of Zakeer, their daughter Shabreem, and relatives Afza Begum and Safar, all residents of Nizamuddin Colony, Kagaznagar. Family members said the car fell into the stream at around 1 am, trapping the occupants beneath the vehicle and causing the instantaneous death of four persons.
Two other relatives travelling in the vehicle sustained serious injuries in the mishap. The injured, including Zakeer, an auto-rickshaw driver, were rushed to a hospital in Chandrapur town, where their condition was reported to be critical.
According to relatives, the family was returning to Kagaznagar after visiting a hospital in Nagpur city for a medical emergency when the accident occurred. Preliminary investigations suggest that the driver may have dozed off at the wheel, lost control of the vehicle, and crashed off the bridge into the stream below.
The sudden loss of four members from two families has plunged Nizamuddin Colony into deep mourning, with grief-stricken relatives and neighbours gathering at the victims’ residence. Local residents described the victims as close-knit family members, making the tragedy all the more devastating.
Police have registered a case and taken up further investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
