Hyderabad: The Ahmadiyya Annual Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was inaugurated in Qadian, India, marking the beginning of its 130th annual spiritual gathering. The convention, known as Jalsa Salana, is being organised at the community’s headquarters in Qadian from December 26 to 28, 2025. The event is being held with traditional grace and magnificence, reflecting its long-standing religious and historical importance.
The Ahmadiyya Annual Convention traces its roots back 134 years. In 1891, the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in India, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Promised Messiah and Mahdi (peace be upon him), initiated this spiritual gathering under Allah’s command. The purpose was to lay a strong foundation for interfaith peace, harmony, and reconciliation. Since then, the convention has continued as a significant spiritual congregation with deep historical value.
The organisers stated that the grand objectives of this convention include “Establishing mutual love, understanding, compassion, and fostering piousness and piety” and also “Laying the foundation for interfaith harmony and peace through a spiritually uplifting gathering “. The core aim of the Ahmadiyya Annual Convention is to beckon the world towards its true Creator while encouraging compassion among God’s creation. It also seeks to promote brotherhood and unity across communities.
This spiritual congregation draws seekers from distant corners, who endure the hardships of travel and set aside worldly pursuits to attend the gathering. According to the community, the convention stands apart from ordinary events due to its unique nature and enduring spiritual message. During the three days, various speeches will be delivered to guide individuals towards moral and spiritual advancement.
The founder of the community explained the deeper purpose of the gathering, stating, “The essence and purpose of this gathering were for our community members to undergo such a transformation through repeated meetings that their hearts wholly incline towards the Hereafter. They should develop a profound fear of God Almighty within themselves and become exemplars of asceticism, piety. God-consciousness, restraint, gentleness, mutual love, and reconciliation. They should manifest humility, modesty, and sincerity while fostering these qualities within themselves for others.”
Meanwhile, attendees often report a renewed sense of faith and ethics after participating. Every individual engaging in the Ahmadiyya Annual Convention feels inner strength and spiritual rejuvenation upon returning home. The message conveyed through this gathering urges people to turn towards their Creator and, while embracing the principle of ‘Love for All, Hatred for None,’ to respect the religious sentiments and emotions of others, united in striving for the betterment of humanity.
