Congress 140th Foundation Day Celebrations In Grand Style
Delhi/Hyderabad, Dec 28 (Maxim News): The Indian National Congress Party celebrated its 140th foundation day on a grand scale today (December 28) at Indira Bhavan in Delhi. Party president Mallikarjun Kharge unfurled the party flag. Parliamentary party chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, KC Venugopal and other senior leaders participated in the event.
The Indian National Congress has always worked for the welfare, empowerment and inclusive development of the people of India.
We strongly believe in equal opportunity in political, economic, and social rights, as guaranteed by the Constitution of India.
Addressing the party workers after the flag hoisting, Kharge expressed his deep anger at the BJP and the RSS. He said that many historic changes had taken place in the country under the Congress rule and that the country had been transformed through programs like the Green Revolution and the White Revolution.
“They are criticizing that the Congress’ work is over. Our strength may have diminished… but the struggle has not stopped,” Kharge clarified. He accused the Modi government of weakening the institutions established during the Congress regime and of trying to usurp the power of the people from the RSS.
He criticized the Congress for never asking for votes in the name of religion and for uniting people, while the BJP is dividing them. Kharge said, “Our fight is not about elections, it is for the country.” Congress cadres across the country are celebrating these celebrations in various states. (Maxim News)
