Traffic police caught the man during a drunk driving check and detained his vehicle after confirming alcohol consumption. According to police, the accused was identified as Irfan, an auto rickshaw driver. Traffic police stopped him at a checkpoint as part of regular night checks. During the breath analyser test, he tested positive for alcohol. Therefore, the police detained his auto rickshaw, following standard procedure. However, the situation quickly escalated at the spot.
Meanwhile, Irfan reacted angrily to the action taken by the police. He allegedly took out a snake from his auto rickshaw and threatened the traffic personnel. He demanded that the police release his vehicle immediately. The sudden act shocked officers and bystanders present at the check. A traffic police official later explained what happened during the confrontation. “Irfan brought a dead snake and showed it to the traffic police officers and asked them to hand over his vehicle. When our people tried to catch him, the man ran away from the place,” the official said. After the threat, the accused managed to flee from the scene before police could restrain him.
Later, a video of the incident began circulating widely on social media platforms. The footage shows the accused confronting the traffic police and displaying the snake. The video sparked public discussion online about safety risks faced by police during enforcement duties. However, police have not shared further details about any subsequent action at this stage.
