According to Adilabad DSP L. Jeevan Reddy, the accused was identified as Thumma Mahipal, a real estate agent from Sonala. He allegedly targeted gullible people by promising house sites through a draw of lots. However, the practice was illegal and aimed at misleading buyers for financial gain.

DSP Jeevan Reddy said Mahipal sold coupons priced at Rs 2,000 each to the public under the pretext of allotting house sites through lucky draws. Therefore, police registered a case against him and launched a detailed investigation into the matter. Officials are now examining whether more people were cheated through similar methods.

He also stated that some agents and developers were fleecing customers by running lucky draw schemes, which violated the law.

Police said strict action will be taken against anyone involved in such fraudulent practices. The arrest serves as a warning to those attempting to exploit public trust through illegal real estate schemes. (Maxim News)
