Fake WhatsApp Call Recording Claims Debunked By Hyderabad Police

Hyderabad, June 3 (Maxim News) : Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar has dismissed viral social media and WhatsApp messages claiming that the Central government has introduced new rules to record phone calls, WhatsApp calls, and messages.

Sajjanar clarified that the information is completely false and intended to create unnecessary panic among the public.

Hyderabad Police stated that misleading messages regarding call monitoring, WhatsApp surveillance, and color coded tick marks continue to circulate on social media platforms. However, officials confirmed that these claims have no factual basis.

The Commissioner urged citizens not to believe or share such unverified messages. He said some individuals are deliberately spreading fake information to create fear and confusion among the public.

Hyderabad Police Warn Against Fake WhatsApp Monitoring Rumors

VC Sajjanar noted that the police department has repeatedly issued clarifications on similar rumors in the past. Despite these efforts, fake posts and forwarded messages continue to resurface across social media platforms and messaging applications.
Furthermore, he clarified that viral claims regarding blue ticks, red ticks, and alleged government monitoring rules on WhatsApp are entirely fabricated. No such regulations have been announced by the government or by WhatsApp.

The Commissioner advised people to verify information from official sources before forwarding messages. He stressed that responsible social media use is essential to prevent the spread of misinformation.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad Police warned that they are closely monitoring those who create and circulate fake news online.

Authorities said strict legal action will follow against individuals found spreading false information that could disturb public order or create panic.

Police also appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious or misleading content to the authorities. Officials emphasized that public cooperation plays a key role in combating misinformation in the digital age.

The latest clarification comes amid recurring viral messages that falsely claim governments or communication platforms are monitoring private conversations through new regulations.
