The Maulana Azad National Urdu University CDOE workshop began in Hyderabad with a strong focus on distance education and a newly launched MBA programme. The two day National Workshop cum Orientation Programme was organised by the Centre for Distance and Online Education for Regional Directors, Assistant Regional Directors, and Learner Support Centre Coordinators.

Addressing the inaugural session, Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan said the two year MBA course launched by MANUU in distance learning mode is unique in the country. He stated, “Two-year MBA course launched by Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) in distance learning mode is a unique and best program of its kind in the entire country for which University has received approval from this year”. He highlighted that the programme marks a major step in expanding professional education through distance mode.

Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor also presented awards to ten best performing Learner Support Centre coordinators. He said MANUU is equipping thousands of students across the country through Urdu medium in distance mode. He added that Learner Support Centres are working hard to strengthen this effort. Later, he announced that the prize money given to centres performing well at the national level would be doubled. He noted that although study material is provided in Urdu, high level skills are needed to prepare quality content. He said CDOE Director Prof. Razaullah Khan is preparing the best possible curriculum by using the services of experienced teachers and experts.

Distance education role stressed at MANUU event

The chief guest, Prof. Ghanta Ramesh, inaugurated the workshop and spoke about the growing importance of distance education. He said distance education is changing the educational landscape as it is accessible, affordable, and effective. He pointed out that MANUU holds a prominent position nationwide as the only Urdu university offering education in both distance and regular modes. He advised teachers and staff to ensure that distance learners receive all possible facilities. He also urged them to introduce new courses under distance and online education so that students are not behind regular learners.

Earlier, in his welcome remarks, Prof. Razaullah Khan acknowledged the role of Learner Support Centre coordinators and appreciated their efforts. He underlined their contribution to the success of distance education programmes. Dr. Wasim Pathan, Associate Professor, conducted the proceedings of the programme. Prof. Nikhat Jahan presented the vote of thanks, marking the conclusion of the inaugural session.
