Kishan Reddy Writes To Revanth To Initiate Steps For Construction Of Second Phase Of Metro Works
Hyderabad, Jan 16 (Maxim News) Union Minister Kishan Reddy wrote a letter to Telangana CM Revanth Reddy on Friday. In this letter, he mentioned the progress of the second phase of Hyderabad Metro work. He also reminded that as part of the state government’s decision to take up the second phase of Metro work in the city to solve the traffic problems faced by Hyderabad city and improve transport facilities, the central government’s approval was sought. He mentioned that the state government has announced that it will take over the first phase of the metro, which is already being implemented, from L&T and operate it itself. Kishan Reddy explained that he met Union Urban Development Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and discussed the construction of the second phase of the metro.
He suggested that the state government should first take over the first phase of the metro from L&T and complete all the agreements, decisions and transactions for that. He said that the central government will take action on the construction of the second phase after the transactions are completed. He said that Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar reminded him that the central government has already agreed to the construction of the second phase of the Hyderabad Metro. Kishan Reddy said that Khattar also informed him that the state government had decided to take over the first phase of the metro from L&T and that the central and state governments would jointly form a committee to prepare for the second phase.

In this context, Kishan Reddy revealed that it has been decided to form a committee with two officials from the state government and two from the central government. He also explained that the state government has requested to send the names of two officials for this purpose. However, he questioned why the state government has not proposed the names of the officials so far. Therefore, CM Revanth Reddy suggested that efforts be made to organize a meeting by sending the names of two officials immediately. Similarly, he appealed to the state government to quickly take over the metro network from L&T and then send the necessary proposals for the construction of the second phase of the metro to the central government. Kishan Reddy requested that the work be completed as soon as possible. (Maxim News)
