Azharuddin | Hyderabad, Jan 21 (Maxim News): Minister for Minorities Welfare Mohammed Azharuddin held a review meeting of the Minorities Welfare Department at Secretariat on Wednesday to assess ongoing works and upcoming welfare initiatives. 

The review focused on Ramzan preparation works and the progress of Christmas-related activities across the state.

Officials also discussed the status of PMJVK projects, including the closure of SNA accounts and updates on ongoing works.

The meeting reviewed the implementation of the Shaadi Mubarak scheme and the identification of graveyard land parcels.

In addition, officials discussed proposed welfare schemes under the Telangana Minorities Finance Corporation.

The Chairman of the Telangana Minorities Finance Corporation directed all District Minority Welfare Officers to immediately expedite the implementation of Finance Corporation schemes.

Advisors and chairpersons from the Minorities Welfare Department shared suggestions to ensure smooth implementation of welfare schemes for minority communities.

The Minister Azharuddin directed that district level Ramzan coordination meetings be convened within a week with district in charge ministers, collectors, legislators, officials, public representatives and religious leaders.
District Minorities Welfare Officers were asked to hold follow up meetings with revenue divisional officers in their respective districts. They were instructed to clear pending Shaadi Mubarak applications and ensure that all other minority welfare schemes are implemented without delay.

​The Minister further directed officials to monitor projects under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram on priority and hand over completed buildings to the Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society. He also said that the budget released for Christmas celebrations should be used for church whitewashing and electrification works.

The meeting was attended by Advisor to the Government Mohammed Ali Shabbir, TGMREIS Chairman Mohammed Faheemuddin Qureshi, Telangana Waqf Board Chairman Azmathullah Hussaini, , and Minority Commission Chairman Tariq Ansari.

Senior officials of the department were also present. (Maxim News)
