Hyderabad: A group of unemployed youth staged a flash protest at Indira Park crossroads in Hyderabad on Monday, demanding that the Telangana government issue a fresh recruitment notification for 19,000 police vacancies instead of limiting the recruitment drive to the recently announced 7,437 posts.
The protesters urged the government to fill all vacant police posts without further delay, arguing that thousands of eligible candidates have been waiting for recruitment notifications for several years.
Protesters Seek Age Relaxation for Police Recruitment
The demonstrators also demanded an increase in the upper age limit for police recruitment, alleging that repeated delays in issuing notifications had left many aspirants ineligible after crossing the prescribed age limit.
They appealed to the State government to address the concerns of unemployed youth, provide age relaxation, and expedite the recruitment process to ensure that deserving candidates are not deprived of employment opportunities.
On receiving information about the protest, Chikkadpally police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. No untoward incidents were reported.
The protest highlights the growing demand among job aspirants for timely recruitment notifications and the filling of vacant government posts in Telangana.
