Hyderabad, Sept. 18: RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat said Dharma is not limited to old age and remains part of human life from birth to death.
Bhagwat made the remarks while addressing the Yuva Dharma Sansad in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, on Friday.
He said he was pleased to see young people discussing Dharma at a time when it is often viewed as a subject for the elderly.
Bhagwat also rejected the idea that the Bhagavad Gita and Ramayana should be read only after retirement.
Mohan Bhagwat Explains Role of Dharma
Bhagwat said Dharma operates from the beginning to the end of creation and guides human conduct and responsibilities.
He said people can fall into delusion when they believe everything is under their control and must happen according to their wishes.
He urged people to move beyond fixed ideas and misconceptions to understand Dharma.
Bhagwat also described Dharma as a principle that sustains the universe and promotes the welfare and progress of all.
He said Dharma should not be understood as being limited to religion or rituals. Instead, he described it as a broader principle that shapes conduct, duties and responsibilities.
Bhagwat also urged young people to approach Dharma without prejudice and connect it with responsible conduct in everyday life.
The Yuva Dharma Sansad is being organised in Ujjain as a three day programme with participation from young people, scholars, teachers and religious leaders.
