India As A Sport Powerhouse: This Is Prime Minister’s Vision: Governor Jishun Dev

Hyderabad, Jan 22 (Maxim News): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a vision to make the country a sports powerhouse, said Telangana State Governor Jishnu Dev Varma. The Governor played cricket at the LB Stadium as part of the Sansad Khel Mahotsav program on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, he explained that games are not just for medals. Sports are a powerful way to show the country’s self-confidence to the world. He said that Swachh Bharat has become a movement and Yoga has been taken all over the world.

Jishnudev Verma praised Prime Minister Modi’s leadership skills in transforming policies into public movements as excellent. He expressed happiness that he did not expect all the medals to come from the northeastern states and that Tripura is competing in the Olympics. He said that he is happy that the minister is organizing such a program in Telangana as well. The Governor described it as gratifying that athletes and sports lovers are participating at such a high level. He said that sports teach people a lot. The Governor emphasized that this is a step forward for a developed India. This is the first step towards ‘Swasth Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat‘. (Maxim News)
