Hyderabad: The Medipally police on Friday arrested four persons in connection with a series of burglary cases reported from the Chengicherla area. The arrests followed a focused investigation into multiple complaints of house break-ins. Police said the cases involved interstate offenders who targeted locked houses during night hours and escaped with valuables.

According to the police, the arrested persons include three burglars and one receiver of stolen property. The burglars were identified as Mahadev Jha and Pawan Gupta alias Pawan Kumar, both residents of Delhi, and Mangal Singh from Uttar Pradesh. The receiver was identified as Seeram Sav Beerendra, a resident of Bihar. Police confirmed that all four were taken into custody on Friday after coordinated operations across states.

Medipally police said the accused allegedly broke into locked houses at night in Chengicherla and fled with cash and gold ornaments. Recently, four burglary cases were registered at the Medipally Police Station. Therefore, special teams were formed to trace the offenders. The teams relied on CCTV footage, technical evidence, and local intelligence to identify the suspects and track their movements.

A senior police official explained the process followed by the investigation teams. “Special teams traced the suspects using CCTV footage, technical evidence and local intelligence. They were found to be taking shelter in neighbouring States. Our special teams went to Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, nabbed them and brought them to Hyderabad on transit warrants,” the official said.

Police said the coordinated effort helped them locate the suspects despite their movement across state borders. Meanwhile, officers recovered Rs 2.04 lakh in cash and four mobile phones from the accused. The recovered items are believed to be linked to the burglary cases registered at the Medipally Police Station.

Later, police confirmed that further investigation is on. Officials are continuing to examine the recovered material and verify the involvement of the accused in other similar cases. They are also checking whether the suspects committed additional offences in Hyderabad or other regions.

The Medipally police said the arrests have helped solve the recent Chengicherla burglary cases. They added that the investigation remains active to ensure all aspects of the crimes are covered. Meanwhile, police urged residents to remain alert and report suspicious activity promptly as investigations progress.
