The RTC bus chaos Medaram has triggered serious disorder at Asia’s largest tribal fair, leaving thousands of devotees stranded and angry. The transport system in Medaram became chaotic as buses failed to arrive on time. As a result, devotees waiting for hours lost patience and rebelled against the authorities. The situation worsened when some devotees smashed the windows of RTC buses in protest. The unrest followed long delays, lack of information, and the absence of officials at the bus stand.

Thousands of devotees heading to distant places such as Hanumakonda and Hyderabad remained stuck at the Medaram bus stand. Meanwhile, the rush of passengers increased as buses stopped irregularly at different points. The bus stand remained packed with people. Mothers with infants, elderly persons, and women stood exposed to the scorching sun. However, no clear system was in place to manage the crowd or guide passengers.

The anger grew as buses did not arrive on schedule. Also, officials were not available to answer questions or explain delays. Therefore, devotees shouted slogans against the government and expressed frustration over the arrangements. Some devotees damaged buses by smashing windows. The protest reflected strong resentment over what they described as a complete failure to ensure safe and timely transport from the fair.

Devotees alleged that the Congress government failed to take even minimum precautions while organizing the Medaram fair. They also pointed to a clear lack of coordination among departments. Meanwhile, the situation reportedly slipped further due to poor coordination between the police and transport department officials. As crowds continued to swell, criticism mounted over the absence of basic facilities for devotees who gathered in large numbers.

Later, devotees demanded that the government respond immediately and arrange additional buses. However, transport issues continued even as people tried to return after visiting the goddesses. On the other hand, Medaram witnessed a massive traffic jam. A traffic congestion stretching nearly 14 kilometers developed from Medaram to Tadvai. Vehicles remained stuck for nearly eight hours, causing severe hardship to returning devotees.
