Fire Accident At Telangana Forensic Science Laboratory In Nampally: No Casualties
Fire Accident | Hyderabad, February 07: A fire broke out at the Telangana Forensic Science Laboratory in Nampally on Saturday morning, February 7, 2026.
However, officials confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. Fire Department teams responded swiftly and contained the blaze within hours, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the building.
According to an official from the Fire Control Room, authorities received a distress call at 10.21 am. Soon after, five fire tenders rushed to the spot. Firefighting units from the Assembly, Secretariat, Gandhi Outpost, Secunderabad, and Langar Houz were pressed into service to contain the fire.
Their coordinated response helped control the situation effectively and ensured safety in the surrounding area.
Meanwhile, Abids Station Fire Officer Pardeep Kumar said the fire originated in the computer room located on the first floor of the G plus 2 building.

Kumar added that preliminary findings suggest the blaze may have been triggered by a short circuit. However, officials clarified that the exact cause is yet to be established.
Therefore, they have not ruled out other possibilities at this stage.

Fire Department personnel worked continuously at the site to bring the situation under control. By noon, firefighters managed to douse the flames completely.
Importantly, their timely action prevented the fire from spreading to other sections of the forensic laboratory. As a result, damage remained limited to the area where the fire originated.
Later, officials confirmed that a case was registered in connection with the incident. Further investigation is now underway to determine the precise cause of the fire.
Authorities are examining electrical systems in the computer room and reviewing safety measures as part of the probe. Meanwhile, forensic staff were advised to cooperate with investigators during the assessment process.
The Telangana Forensic Science Laboratory is a crucial facility that supports criminal investigations across the state. Therefore, the incident drew immediate attention from senior officials.
