Congress Women MPs Write To Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla

Delhi/Hyderabad, Feb 9 (Maxim News): Congress women MPs have written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. In the letter, the women MPs strongly condemned the allegations that she is preparing to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the letter, the women MPs further wrote, ‘The parliamentary rights of the opposition MPs are being trampled on. 8 MPs have been suspended. Our protest continued peacefully in a democratic manner. We did not want to resort to violence in the House. The Prime Minister does not have the courage to face the opposition. It is not that we will attack. The Prime Minister did not come to the Lok Sabha out of fear of us. The Lok Sabha Speaker should be impartial,’ the women MPs wrote.

Eight opposition MPs have been suspended for throwing papers at Speaker Om Birla during the Budget Session. Manikkam Tagore, Gurjeet Singh Aujla, Amarinder Singh Raja, Kiran Kumar Reddy, Hibi Eden, Dean Kuriakose, Prashant Padole and CPI(M)’s S. Venkatesan were suspended by the Lok Sabha Speaker from the rest of the Budget Session. The suspension came after the House passed a resolution moved by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju seeking action against the MPs who threw papers at Speaker Om Birla.
