RGIA Bomb Threat Sparks Security Alert in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, Feb. 14: RGIA bomb threat triggered a major security alert on Saturday morning after authorities received an email claiming that a bomb was planted on an IndiGo flight arriving from Delhi.
The threat created panic among passengers and prompted immediate action at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
Officials received the email alert regarding the Delhi to Hyderabad IndiGo flight while it was en route.
Therefore, security agencies acted swiftly after the aircraft landed at Shamshabad. Authorities immediately shifted the flight to an isolation bay as a precautionary measure.
RGIA Bomb Threat Prompts Intensive Security Checks
After landing, officials safely deboarded all passengers. Meanwhile, the Bomb Disposal Squad and CISF personnel launched a thorough inspection of the aircraft. Security teams conducted detailed checks to rule out any explosives on board.
During the search, officials noticed a suspicious toy inside the aircraft. Consequently, security personnel heightened their alert and examined the object using special equipment.
However, after extensive checks, authorities confirmed that the toy did not contain any explosive material.
Officials later determined that a passenger had accidentally left the toy inside the aircraft. As a result, they declared the bomb threat to be a fake email. Passengers expressed relief after authorities cleared the flight.
Police have now launched an investigation to identify the person responsible for sending the fake email. Meanwhile, airport authorities maintained strict security protocols to ensure passenger safety.
