Hyderabad: Cyberabad Traffic DCP Seshadrini Reddy warned that some miscreants are playing with the lives of girls in the name of love. He issued the Valentines Day warning and urged girls to stay alert, especially amid the rising influence of social media.
He said the influence of social media has increased tremendously in recent times. As a result, he cautioned that some people are misusing platforms like Facebook and Instagram. According to him, certain individuals are introducing themselves to girls on these platforms and later cheating them in the name of love.
Cyberabad DCP Flags Social Media Risks
The Cyberabad DCP stressed that girls must remain vigilant on Valentines Day. He stated that some “beasts” are targeting girls through Facebook and Instagram. They first build contact online. Then, they allegedly mislead them with false promises.
He warned that children who come out of their homes believing such words are being sexually assaulted. Therefore, he urged families and young women to stay cautious. He also appealed to the public to be alert against such hooligans who misuse trust.
The officer made it clear that awareness is essential. Meanwhile, he underlined that prevention starts with vigilance. He said social media influence has grown rapidly, and hence users must exercise care while interacting with strangers.
DCP Cautions Hotels Over Minors On Valentines Day
Seshadrini Reddy also issued a clear advisory to hotel owners. He advised that when giving rooms to young men and women in hotels on the occasion of Valentines Day, they should cross check the certificates. This, he said, will help prevent misuse.
He warned hotel owners that if they rent rooms knowingly to minors and are caught during police checks, they will be punished according to the law. Therefore, he urged strict verification of documents before allotting rooms.
The Valentines Day warning comes as authorities seek to prevent incidents linked to misuse of social media and exploitation. The Cyberabad police, meanwhile, have called for cooperation from parents, young people and hotel managements to ensure safety and law compliance.
