The review meeting examined the possible impact of El Niño and the prevailing rain-deficit conditions on agriculture and electricity demand. The Chief Minister discussed the recurring power outages and questioned the Energy Department’s failure to increase electricity generation in response to the growing shortage.
Revanth Reddy also sought an explanation for the Yadadri Thermal Power Plant not generating electricity at its full installed capacity, despite arrangements having been made for coal supplies from the Naini and Mahanadi coal sources.
The meeting reviewed the gap between the state’s power requirements and available generation, with particular attention to ensuring adequate electricity for agricultural needs during the critical crop period.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to take the necessary steps to prevent interruptions in farm power supply and ensure that electricity availability does not worsen the impact of insufficient rainfall.
