The issue erupted after a mismatch surfaced between the name announced earlier by BRS Working President and local MLA KTR and the name mentioned in the sealed cover opened at the venue.

Earlier, KTR had reportedly finalised and announced the name of senior party leader Burra Narayana for the post of Siricilla Municipal Vice Chairman.

Following that announcement, his supporters and followers celebrated the decision. However, events took a sudden turn during the oath ceremony.

Sealed Cover Triggers Controversy

When officials opened the sealed cover at the time of the ceremony, it contained different names. The cover mentioned Kala Chakrapani as Chairman and Sandeep as Vice Chairman.

This unexpected development shocked party cadres present at the venue.

Supporters of Burra Narayana expressed strong anger over the change. They questioned how the name declared earlier for the Vice Chairman post was replaced at the time of election.

According to them, the move amounted to betraying party workers. Therefore, they staged a protest in front of the municipal office.

Police Step In to Control Situation

As tensions escalated, police intervened to control the situation. They attempted to pacify the protesting supporters and prevent further unrest. Meanwhile, the atmosphere at the municipal office remained tense for some time.
