Budget Allocations: KTR Writes To CM Revanth

Hyderabad: BRS Working President KTR has written an open letter to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy demanding that budget allocations be made as per the promises given during the 2023 Assembly elections. He alleged that even though the Congress government has completed almost half its term, 95 percent of the promises remain pending. Therefore, he urged the government to allocate necessary funds in the 2026 to 2027 budget.

Midway through term, promises still pending

KTR stated that the government announced six guarantees after coming to power. However, he alleged that allocations were not made in the two budgets presented so far. He demanded that funds be earmarked for women, the elderly, students, youth and farmers as promised. He also sought allocations for BCs, SCs, STs and minorities as per declarations made earlier. Meanwhile, he warned that if funds are not allocated this time, Telangana society will not remain patient.

Demands on pensions, Rythu Bandhu and job promises

KTR asked the government to calculate and allocate funds to increase pensions to Rs. 4,000 for the elderly and widows. He also referred to the promise of providing Rs. 2,500 per month to women under Mahalaxmi. In addition, he demanded allocations for increasing Rythu Bandhu to Rs. 15,000 and clearing pending dues. He sought deposits for tenant farmers and farm laborers as promised in the Congress manifesto.

He further raised the issue of unemployment. He demanded allocations for a job calendar, unemployment allowance and filling two lakh jobs. He also requested funds for financial assistance to auto drivers and implementation of welfare measures.

KTR said, “If adequate funds are not allocated in the 2026-2027 budget for the implementation of the promises made under the 6 guarantees, 420 promises and declarations, I remind you that we will stand up for the people everywhere and the fraudulent Congress.” He added that the Chief Minister and ministers would not be able to move freely in public if promises remain unfulfilled.
