As part of the second phase, it is being conducted in 12 states including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh in october 2025.  It is currently ongoing.  Meanwhile, the first phase of the census will begin from April 1 this year.  Usually, government teachers are used for both the census and the SIR process.  In this context the EC intends to conduct the two processes in phases to avoid burdening them.  (Maxim News)
