Extend Deadline For Minority Schemes, Demands Yakub Pasha

Hyderabad, Feb. 28 (Maxim News): Minority Association State President M.D. Yakub Pasha has urged the Telangana government to extend the deadline for applying to minority welfare schemes.

He made this request in a statement issued in Hyderabad on Saturday.

The Minority Welfare Department recently introduced schemes such as the e-scooter scheme and generator and tool kit support for economically backward unemployed minority youth.

However, Yakub Pasha said many eligible beneficiaries lack proper awareness about the online application process. Therefore, he demanded that the government extend the deadline by 15 days.

Yakub Pasha criticised district minority officials for limiting their efforts to issuing press notes. According to him, authorities failed to ensure proper outreach at the ground level.

Furthermore, he pointed out district-wise limitations in the implementation of the schemes. He alleged that the e-scooter scheme covers only 25 districts, leaving out 8 districts.

Similarly, the generator and tool kit scheme reportedly applies to only 24 districts, excluding 9 others.

In addition, he said that several applicants who did not receive benefits under previous schemes are now facing issues while applying online.

Yakub Pasha claimed that the OBMMS portal is not accepting applications in some cases. Therefore, he urged the government to resolve technical problems immediately.

Yakub Pasha appealed to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to intervene. He also submitted representations to Minority Welfare Minister Mohammad Azharuddin, Minority Welfare Secretary Shafiullah, and Minority Finance Corporation Chairman Ubedullah Kotwal.

Yakub Pasha requested that the government extend the current March 1 deadline by 15 days.

Moreover, he demanded that authorities implement the schemes in all 33 districts to ensure equal opportunity for unemployed minority youth across Telangana.(Maxim News)
