Delhi/Hyderabad, Mar 9 (Maxim News): Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar made a key statement in the Rajya Sabha on Monday on the situation in West Asian countries. He said that the Indian government is closely monitoring the situation in West Asian countries. He also said that the Center is committed to the safety of Indians in Gulf countries. “Indian embassies in Gulf countries are issuing advisories for Indians from time to time. The Indian government is alert about the crude oil situation. We have set up helpline numbers for Indians. The Indian embassy in Tehran is fully functional. The Indian government is in talks with the governments of Gulf countries. Indian airlines are bringing back Indian nationals. Flight services are available for those who want to come to India. We are providing assistance to those in Doha and Jordan. I spoke to the Iranian Foreign Minister about the situation in Iran,” he said.

Union Minister Jaishankar has put a check on the ongoing campaign on crude oil. He made it clear that the interests of the country and the people will not be sacrificed for crude oil. ‘We will give top priority to the interests of Indians. The interests of the country will always be supreme,’ he said. He expressed confidence in the country’s oil reserves. Speaking earlier, Jaishankar revealed that there are about 4 thousand crore liters of oil reserves in strategic centers like Visakhapatnam, Mangalore, Padur, etc., as well as in pipelines, tanks and sea vessels.
