Telangana New Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla | Hyderabad, March 10: Shiv Pratap Shukla, who was recently appointed as the new Governor of Telangana, arrived in the state for the first time on Tuesday.

Shiv Pratap Shukla landed at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad. A. Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana, warmly welcomed the Governor and his wife at the airport.

State Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao and DGP Jitender Shivadhar Reddy also attended the reception. The Chief Minister later held a brief courtesy meeting with the Governor at the airport.

Meanwhile, Apares Kumar Singh, Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court, will administer the oath of office to the new Governor on Wednesday.

Officials are making arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony at Raj Bhavan.

Recently, the Government of India appointed new Governors for several states. As part of this reshuffle, the Centre transferred Shiv Pratap Shukla from his post as Governor of Himachal Pradesh to Telangana. It also transferred Jishnu Dev Varma, who earlier served as Telangana Governor, to Maharashtra.
