Hyderabad, Mar 10 (Maxim News): Tension prevailed in Maisammaguda, under the jurisdiction of Pet Basheerabad police station in Hyderabad, at midnight. The dispute was sparked when students staying in a private hostel got into a fight with a security guard after consuming alcohol. However, on receiving this information, the police reached the spot and indiscriminately lathi-charged the students to bring the situation under control. He barged into the hostel rooms and not only lathi-charged the students but also hurled obscenities at them.
Students are expressing their grief that the police behaved inhumanely towards them and were not even given a chance to explain. The student community was outraged when the footage of the police attack went viral on social media. Although the police say that they intervened to maintain law and order and that they had to use force due to the students’ behavior, there is widespread criticism over the entry into the rooms.
