The AWPO Job Fair organised to mark International Women’s Day resulted in 323 candidates being shortlisted for final selection during a large placement drive held at Secunderabad Military Station. The Army Welfare Placement Organisation conducted the event under the aegis of HQ Telangana and Andhra Sub Area to support Veer Naris, widows, dependents, and fresh graduates of Ex Servicemen.

The AWPO Job Fair was organised in collaboration with the Magic Bus Foundation, Fectset Research Systems, and Wipro. In addition, a total of 26 private and multinational companies participated in the placement drive. The companies conducted interviews and interacted with job seekers throughout the event.

Meanwhile, the placement drive created an important platform for employment opportunities. Colonel Budhori (Retd), Director of the Army Welfare Placement Organisation for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, delivered the introductory address. He also motivated the candidates with an inspiring pep talk before the interviews began.

During the event, participating companies conducted 538 interviews. The large number of interviews reflected strong participation from both employers and candidates. The drive mainly focused on providing job opportunities to Veer Naris, widows, dependents, and fresh graduates of Ex Servicemen.

Later, organisers confirmed that 323 candidates were shortlisted by various companies for final selection. This group included 35 Veer Naris or dependent women. It also included 228 dependent fresh graduates and 60 Ex Servicemen. The outcome highlighted the success of the AWPO Job Fair and showed the demand for skilled candidates among companies.

Shortlisted candidates move closer to final job selection

The organisers said the placement drive fulfilled the aspirations of many job seekers. It also helped connect companies with candidates from defence families. Therefore, the AWPO Job Fair served both employment and social support objectives.

Out of the shortlisted candidates, four have already received final selection confirmation. These candidates will receive their appointment letters after they arrive at their respective company locations next week.

Overall, the event demonstrated how coordinated efforts between the Army Welfare Placement Organisation and private companies can support employment opportunities for defence families and ex servicemen dependents.
