On Monday, the statue of Telangana Thalli will also be unveiled in the Assembly premises. However, the move has drawn opposition from leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi. BRS leaders have raised objections to the form of the statue proposed by the government.
Despite the disagreement, the government is moving ahead with the programme. The unveiling of the statue is scheduled to take place as part of the events on the opening day of the assembly session.
The Budget Session Assembly is also expected to feature discussions on several legislative and administrative matters. The Telangana government has indicated that important policies and initiatives will be brought up during the proceedings.
Key policy discussions expected in Telangana Assembly
According to the agenda, lawmakers are likely to discuss a proposal to support a new law aimed at protecting the rights of gig workers. The issue has gained attention as many people are engaged in app based and digital platform jobs.
The session will also include discussions on the implementation of new policies and changes in the education sector. Lawmakers are expected to examine budget allocations related to education and related reforms.
In addition, the assembly is likely to debate legal measures aimed at controlling fake news and harmful content on social media platforms. The discussions will look at possible restrictions related to such content.
Environmental and infrastructure issues are also expected to come up. Lawmakers may discuss the cleaning of the Musi River and the broader issue of river water management.
Another key topic expected to be raised is the Kaleshwaram Project and work related to it. The discussions may also include questions about the silence of the CBI and matters related to reality inspection connected to the project.
The Congress government hopes the Budget Session Assembly will help shape decisions on innovation, laws, and citizen welfare through detailed debate and discussion.
