Hyderabad Musi Riverfront | Hyderabad, March 18: BRS leader K. T. Rama Rao criticised the Telangana government over the Musi project. He said the government gave conflicting statements about the Musi DPR.
During the Assembly debate, KTR recalled a minister’s January statement. At that time, the minister said DPR preparation would take 18 months.
However, the government now claims it completed the report. Therefore, KTR asked how officials finished it in just two months.
KTR demanded that the government place the DPR before the Assembly. He also said officials have not shared the report with the opposition. Meanwhile, he accused the government of misleading the House.
KTR also questioned the selection of the Main Heart organisation. He claimed Pakistan authorities issued red corner notices against the firm. He asked why the government chose such an agency.
Later, KTR announced a BRS walkout from the Assembly. He said the party strongly opposed what he called a Rs 1.5 lakh crore loot in the Musi project. Therefore, BRS members staged their protest and left the House.

Raising another issue, KTR said the government failed to explain how many houses it plans to demolish. He also said the Musi River Development Corporation MD admitted there was no DPR. Moreover, he criticised the government for holding presentations in five star hotels. Instead, he asked officials to present plans before affected families.
He also explained why BRS skipped the government presentation. According to him, the party wanted discussions with victims, not hotel meetings.
Targeting the Congress, KTR blamed the party for turning the Musi into a polluted drain. He also questioned buffer zone notices. He said officials spoke about a 50 metre limit but sent notices to areas five kilometres away.
KTR further alleged that authorities mentioned demolition of 1,400 houses. However, officials reportedly issued notices to more than 10,000 houses. He also criticised the lack of coordination. According to him, even the Deputy Chief Minister lacked information about demolitions in Khammam district.
Finally, KTR alleged there was no ADB loan support. He also claimed the government lacks funds and a clear action plan.
