Rs. 1 Crore Insurance Cheque Handed Over To Family Of Deceased Telangana Constable

Hyderabad, August 3 (Maxim News): Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand on Monday handed over a ₹1 crore insurance cheque to the family of AR Constable V. Charan Kumar, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a road accident while returning from official duty.

Charan Kumar, belonging to the 2018 batch of the Rachakonda Commissionerate, was serving on deputation with the EAGLE Force. He met with a serious road accident near Deovarkar village in Maharashtra during the intervening night of September 22 and 23, 2025, while returning after completing his official duties.

The constable sustained severe head injuries and multiple fractures, including serious injuries to his right leg. He initially received first aid at a local hospital before being shifted to Yashoda Hospital, Hyderabad, for advanced treatment.

Doctors performed plastic surgery as part of his treatment, and he was discharged from the hospital on October 28, 2025. However, shortly after reaching home, Charan Kumar suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness. His family immediately rushed him back to Yashoda Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

To provide financial assistance to the bereaved family, EAGLE Force Director Sandeep Shandilya, SP Raghuveer, Additional SP Krishnamurthy, and other officers coordinated with the State Bank of India (SBI) to process the insurance claim at the earliest.

Following the completion of the claim process, DGP C.V. Anand presented the ₹1 crore insurance cheque to Charan Kumar’s family. He expressed his deep condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of the police department’s continued support during this difficult time.
