Telangana Budget 2026 | Hyderabad, March 20: The Telangana Cabinet approved the Telangana Budget 2026 27 during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Friday.
Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka presented the annual budget proposals. Subsequently, the Cabinet gave unanimous approval.
Bhatti Vikramarka handed over the budget documents to the Chief Minister after the meeting.
Revanth Reddy then directed him to present the Telangana Budget 2026 27 in the Assembly. Soon after, the Chief Minister and Cabinet ministers left for the Assembly.
Bhatti Vikramarka will present the budget in the Legislative Assembly. Meanwhile, Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy will present key highlights in the Legislative Council.
Earlier, Bhatti Vikramarka reached the Assembly from his official residence Praja Bhavan.
Before that, he performed special prayers at the Nallapochamma temple located inside the premises. Priests also performed rituals for the budget documents. Later, the Cabinet meeting discussed the proposals and cleared them.
Telangana Budget 2026 27 focuses on welfare and development
The Telangana Budget 2026 27 is expected to focus strongly on welfare and development programmes.
According to sources, the government plans higher allocations for social schemes. At the same time, infrastructure spending may also see an increase.
The state government had proposed a total outlay of Rs 3,04,965 crore in the previous budget.
However, officials now expect an increase of around 8 to 10 percent. Therefore, the total outlay may reach between Rs 3.29 lakh crore and Rs 3.30 lakh crore.
The Cabinet meeting took place at the Assembly Committee Hall. Ministers discussed financial priorities for the 2026 27 fiscal year. After discussions, they formally cleared the budget for presentation.
The budget comes as the Congress government continues its term in the state. Therefore, policy decisions in this budget have drawn political and public attention. Many expect announcements on welfare delivery, agriculture support, and employment generation.
Further details will become clear after the Finance Minister completes his budget speech. The government is expected to release department wise allocations later in the day.
